Calendar layout and HSBC schedule theories
By experimenting with different ways of arranging each month,
I've found that some patterns become clearest if you count by Saturdays.
For example, for the last four months, the bonus comics have released precisely on
the day before the 3rd and 4th Saturdays of the month.
(Note that this pattern weakens if you count by Fridays instead,
because that's sometimes the 2nd and 3rd Fridays,
and sometimes the 3rd and 4th Fridays.)
Similarly, there is typically bonus content on the day before the 2nd Saturday,
and bonus content released on or before the 1st Saturday.
As for HSBC updates themselves,
in August and September, they were released on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays or the next day.
May through July kind of follow this pattern, but actually fit much better to the 2nd and 4th Wednesday.
I'm not sure if they switched from a Wednesday schedule to a Saturday one,
or if one or both patterns are coincidences.
Admittedly the data is shaky, because there have only been about 5 months
of content released on a weekly basis rather than a monthly basis.
